Community Art + Workshops

I believe that the act of gathering and making together is a powerful act of resistance! Not only is art a powerful visual medium for expressing social justice ideas, it is also a powerful way to turn our feelings about what is happening in this world into a tangible expression of our grief. When we make together we build community and connections that helps us all.

Available for group sizes of approximately 6-20 in person within Halifax Regional Municipality, and parts of the valley. Specializing in beginner level, accessible, single session workshops in:

  • Block Printing
  • Mini Zines
  • Protest Banners and Wall Hangings
  • Embroidery

My focus is always trying to offer an affordable and easy experience for participants, that allows time to connect with their fellow participants. Perfect for groups of familiar friends or groups filled with new community members alike!

In addition to art workshops, I also offer sessions for groups of caregivers and educators to chat about early literacy strategies at home and building a richly diverse bookshelf at home or in the classroom. These sessions can take place in person or virtually. I also offer a range of customized workshops that connect literacy, books, accessibility, and equity along with my partner The Tiny Activist.
